When The Sun Fell in Love

When the sun fell in love with the moon
The world stopped turning
And the universe sighed
This love they shared was all wrong
Not right, how could it be?

But the Moon Goddess would not be denied
Her love for the Sun God could not be concealed
By day his fiery passion consumed her gentle light
By night her light glowed brightly illuminating him out of sight

The Universe saw their plight
And the world agreed something must be done
The two most powerful creations conspired
Now the Moon’s soft glow highlights the dawn sky
As the sun rises and colours the morning with love

When the sun says goodbye to the day
His rays shine bright for his Moon Goddess
For a moment their love unites in the sky
Her moonlight beckoning the night
As the sun sets the day in shades of gold.
